HOPE YOU KNOW

Pals (Grades: K - 2)

Pals is a group-mentoring program that matches children in Grades K-2 with caring adults and teens. We currently serve 60 children in four Pals groups.  Each group of 15 children, four mentors and a program coordinator meet for 15 sessions. The program goal is to provide young children with opportunities for fun, peer interactions, development of creative skills, positive social behaviors, building friendships and exploring expressions of feelings. They are served a nutritious breakfast or snack and have group circle time before breaking into small groups with their mentors for arts and crafts or games. Children also receive help with individual needs under the direction of HOPE's two early-childhood specialists.  Parenting support is offered by program coordinators and the HOPEful Families parenting specialist.

Pals operates on Saturdays at HOPE House 9:30-11:30 a.m.  Wednesdays the off-site sessions take place at Waterford Street Elementary School from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
